Cathy Abbott — bioRxiv Affiliate

Cathy Abbott is a Professor at the University of Edinburgh researching on mutations in eEF1A2 that cause epilepsy, autism and intellectual disability and genome editing for studying neurodevelopmental disorders and neurodegeneration. Cathy recently became a bioRxiv Affiliate to help us screen manuscripts. She loves playing a role in an initiative which has really changed the face of publishing in the life sciences, and knowing that she’s helping put all the work out into the world for everyone’s benefit. Sophien Kamoun — bioRxiv Affiliate

Sophien Kamoun has been a bioRxiv Affiliate since 2013. He is a Group Leader at The Sainsbury Laboratory in Norwich, UK, and a globally recognized expert in plant-pathogen interactions and plant immunity. He is also a passionate advocate for open science, including open data, transparent peer review, and the use of preprints to accelerate the dissemination of research. Sophien considers his Affiliate role as a uniquely rewarding experience of bringing new research to the world. He has enjoyed being a part of bioRxiv’s growth from its initiation to where it is today as a mainstream platform for biological research. In this interview, he shares why he enjoys being an Affiliate.

Yunlu Zhu — bioRxiv Affiliate

Yunlu Zhu has been a bioRxiv Affiliate since 2024. Yunlu is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Neuroscience Institute of the NYU Grossman School of Medicine (USA). He studies the neural circuits underlying balance control in the context of neurodegenerative diseases. He decided to become an Affiliate so that he could give back to the community, after having benefited from posting his own research on bioRxiv. In this interview, he shares why he enjoys being an Affiliate.

Agathe Chaigne — bioRxiv Affiliate

Agathe Chaigne has been a bioRxiv affiliate since 2022. In this interview, she shares whys he likes being an Affiliate and why others should consider it. She is an Assistant Professor at Utrecht University researching on the fundamental mechanisms of cell division, in particular, the last step of cell division, abscission, which is the final cut between the sister cells. Elisa Fadda — bioRxiv Affiliate

Elisa Fadda has been a bioRxiv affiliate since 2017. She is an Associate Professor at Maynooth University researching on the study of the diverse functional roles of structural disorder and its modulation in carbohydrates (glycans), proteins and glycoproteins with implications on molecular recognition. In this interview, she shares why she likes being an Affiliate and why others should consider it.

Gaétan Burgio — bioRxiv Affiliate

Gaétan Burgio has been a bioRxiv affiliate since 2020. He is a Principal Investigator at the Australian National University researching on host pathogens interaction on multidrug resistant bacteria and the malaria parasite. He enjoys helping the bioRxiv team post manuscripts online because it helps other researchers. He also supports the bioRxiv mission because the server allows him to discover new and relevant science discoveries.
